Finally out of my Funk

I am now partly convinced that carbs make me stupid and depressed.  After two days of a low-carb diet I can finally say I don't feel like crawling into a hole and can think a little more clearly.  Plus I've lost 2 pounds.

So PLEASE someone remind me when I have a carb craving that they make me CRAZY!

I have, however, been having insane dreams for the past 3 nights and could possibly have sleepwalked last night.  I woke up wearing different pants than what I went to bed wearing, one of my earrings is missing, and the bottle of water I had on my nightstand when I went to bed made its way to the refrigerator.  IDK.  Crazy.

I'm going to spend the afternoon making a new Thai Chicken recipe ala Rachael Ray (we'll see how it turns out!) and reading.  OH!  And I did some pretty nails last night:

Holo topcoat over Purple frost polish, with a white flower stamped on my ring fingers.  They all have that rainbow "flash" like on my thumb nail in the sun.  Love holo polish!

Rainy days, nails, and my Kindle Fire

Its my day off.  I intended to spend the day in bed reading, but of course I was restless by 7:30 so I got up.  Washed my hair and face, fed the cat, discovered last night's storm blew my new glass hummingbird feeder off my sliding glass door and broke it so I'm pretty bummed about that.  I didn't even get to see a single hummingbird at it yet!  I'll have to get a new one :(.
It looks like its going to storm again any minute, so I'm going to make some yummy coffee, eggs, and toast for breakfast.
Oh!  And before I did anything this morning I decided to take off my last manicure fail (didn't even bother with pictures) and try water marble nails again.  This time success!!  Well, mostly.  Some of them are kind of ugly messes but with practice I did a couple that turned out fantastic!  Kind of a pain in the butt, labor intensive, I won't do it very often, but I love the results.  Viola!

Left hand

Right hand.  Used Sally Hanson InstaDry for blue, pink, green, and yellow plus a Wet N Wild orange glitter for marbling

Happy Easter

I'm a bit cranky this morning, but its Easter morning so I'm going to try to get out of my snit.  I've been going through some serious depression this week, but for some reason I've had trouble this time of year my whole life, even when I was 5-6 years old.  So I'm going to do my best to focus on other things until it passes and just let God handle it.  To distract me this morning, I took a few pictures of pretty things to share!

Easter nails!  Nicole by OPI polish (don't know the name, from the nail salon), I used the hook end of a small crochet hook to dot white polish in a graduated pattern from the top down.  I love it!
Gorgeous pink peony from Shane's yard, I picked it yesterday, brought it home, trimmed the stem off and its floating in water in a white candy dish my Grandma gave me.

Mona cat being her cute, weird, helpful self.
Happy Easter!

Spring flowers

TGIF!!  Glad the weekend is here!  And its Easter weekend too, so I'll be going to church services tomorrow night and then Easter brunch at Mom's on Sunday!  I love this time of year, the flowers are all blooming, everything is green, the air is warm but its still cool at night (perfect for sleeping!)  Here are a few pictures of the gorgeous tulips and lilacs mom picked at her house this week:
Aren't they gorgeous?  I love tulips, they're my very favorite flower.  Happy Easter everyone!

Yes I'm Still Reading

I've finished the first book, now I'm on to the second of the trio.  Sinfully delicious!
I did manage to get a few things done today and yesterday though, apart from all the naughty books.  Yesterday I spent the entire day with my man, having Chinese food, napping, planting pepper and tomato seeds, and having a great day!  Today I did a bit of grocery shopping (cooking pics tomorrow maybe?), went to church, did my nails, and shaved my brother's head:
Today's mani: Sally Hansen polish in Very Cherry with Bundle Monster zebra pattern stamped using Konad black polish
My brother's scary Mr. T look - he looked like Grizzly Adams before I took the clippers to him
All in all, its been a productive weekend!  Back to work my real job tomorrow!

New obsession!!

I took yesterday off from posting because 1. I had to work my REAL job :)  and 2. all my free time was taken up with the new book I downloaded onto my Kindle and I'm OBSESSED with!  The book is called "50 Shades of Grey" written by E. L. James and I'm telling you, its HOT!   The author was inspired by the Twilight books, and while there aren't any vampires or werewolves or anything supernatural at all, you can definitely see similarities.  It is set in Washington State, the heroine is young, naive, clumsy, and doesn't realize she is appealing to men.  Mr. Grey, the main character, is in his 20s as well, wildly successful and wealthy, gorgeous of course,  ridiculously attracted to Ana (heroine), but he has a dark secret.  The secret is all about SEX!  Very graphic sex, to be exact.  Things most of us wouldn't dream of and maybe didn't know even existed.  But WHOA!  What a good read!  Even without the sex parts, its a good book.  And I'm only halfway through.  So what am I doing here???  See ya... :)

Lunch was Delish!

So I'm off work today and was inspired to cook a few things.  I have been completely addicted to Pinterest for the past few weeks, and found a recipe for Baked Parmesan Asparagus there that looked SO good (I don't even LIKE asparagus!).  So while grocery shopping today I saw that they had asparagus on sale...I picked up a bunch, along with some seasoned bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, and eggs.  Took them home and made these!
Crunchy Baked Parmesan Asparagus - with ranch for dipping :)
